Get To Know Us

In May of 2005, we opened the doors to Romie’s Grocery.  Rob’s passion for food and hands-on experience in the kitchen with family and friends has made his dream a success almost 20 years later.  Leeann was pregnant with baby #2, Mary Lawson, and baby #1, Jesse Lee, on my hip.  We didn’t have a Lindsay in 2005 so we were pretty overwhelmed with babies and restaurant.

We decided to plunge into dinner service in 2007 while pregnant with baby #3, Pinchy. Ms. Kat started keeping our girls when Pinchy was 2 months old.  Her role was crucial in surviving three babies and running our business.  We are thankful from the bottom of our hearts for all the help, love and support we have received.  Cheers to the next 20 years!!

Our 3 beautiful daughters that were raised in the restaurant and learned several aspects of serving and feeding the masses.  10 to 10,000 is what we say as to how many people our team can effectively serve.

We have built an amazing team in the kitchen, front of the house and on-site caterings.  At the helm of our circus is leader and manager, Lindsay Rayburn.

Rayburn has been with us since 2007.  She has been a server, bartender, cater waiter, “secretary” and so much more.  We definitely couldn’t make it without Lindsay.

The restaurant world is ever-changing.  People come and go and then come again. Many praises and successes that far outreach the disappointments. One thing I know is we want to serve our customers well.  Namon truly desires for your steak to be perfection.  Tequila brings her New Orleans flare to dinner specials.  Our lemon crunch and chocolate delight secures a return guests. Lynn L is hands-down the best catering fry guy around.  Pops will have Thursdays fried chicken battered and fried to perfection.  

Johnny Morris will forever be everyone’s favorite to see at a catered event.  

Mamaw Theresa works really hard to keep us all in line.

Our dinner managers works endlessly to be the glue at night time to see that our customer are satisfied. United we kill it.  Divided we fall.  She thanks to our fabulous night crew!!

Rob’s favorite aspect of our business is the challenge of organizing large corporate events.  We have had the joy of feeding many college football teams like Ole Miss, LSU, Texas A & M and Alabama.  The 48,000 meals in three days for the International Mennonite convention was exciting.  From VIP rooms at The Cadence Bank Area to being part of numerous 500 plus seated dinners in the Conference Center, we are beyond thrilled to feed the public.  Mike, Lisa, Dana and crew do an outstanding job feeding the masses.

Lunches are served 11-2 every day except Saturday.  We love seeing regular customers and permanent fixtures in our seats daily.  Mac and cheese, fried green tomatoes and black-eyed peas are served daily.  Bailee and Ali are here daily ready to serve with radical southern hospitality. Don’t forget banana pudding is free on Mondays.  

Dinner is served Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights 5-10 pm.  Steaks, chicken, pasta with delicious sides.  Live music is provided on the patio Friday and Saturdays and drinks are flowing until midnight!!  We love celebrating first dates, anniversary and birthdays with our guests.  Thank you for all the memories made with us!!
